Why Should You Join PTK?
Welcome to the Alpha Chi Sigma chapter of PTK! Joining our Honor Society is a great way to learn life skills and gain professional development outside of the classroom. We believe in positively impacting the community while ensuring our members experience personal, academic, and professional growth. We can’t wait to meet all of our prospective and new members!
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN?
A cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and a minimum of 12 college credit hours are required to join.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
The benefits of joining PTK include professional/leadership development, community service opportunities, scholarships, and a sense of camaraderie. The more you put in, the more you get out (like a gym membership)!
WHAT'S THE COST?
Joining costs $90 which includes local, regional, and national fees. This is a one-time cost as long as you maintain your membership in good standing. Golden opportunity scholarships are available if the member dues are an obstacle. Look in your school email for an invitation about 6 weeks into each new semester and/or visit https://join.ptk.org/ to join.
CAN I GET SCHOLARSHIPS?
PTK has many opportunities for scholarships from the regional alumni association, the CFCC Foundation, the PTK International Foundation, partner universities, and sponsoring organizations. Some are specific to future careers (nursing, business, etc.). You are eligible for scholarships as a PTK member; the more involved you are with your local chapter, the more likely you will be to stand out.
